 Hi there!

I’m Johanna Ayrault an artist dabbling in different media. I’m French but currently live in Austria, where I’m super inspired by the beautiful nature surrounding me.

I work as a researcher in social sciences – on the urban energy transition mainly – but I’ve always been drawn to arts. I love dancing, and since April 2021 I have fallen in love with watercolors. In March 2022, I have discovered alcohol-based markers, then, in June 2022 I fell for watercolor journaling – where I can capture on-location memories. Since then I have continued expanding the different media I work with : colored pencils, waterbrush markers, oil pastels, gouache paint and even acrylic paint. I also dabble in digital art since early 2023. Watercolor remains my go-to medium but I am super curious and love trying out new medium and using mixed-media techniques.

I am self-taught but I’ve followed loads of tutorials, books, online classes, and keep trying to learn new skills and tackle new subjects. I am particularly fond of painting landscapes, and taking inspiration from the beauties of nature.

I share my art on Instagram and Youtube. I also have a Patreon, where you can support me, so that I can continue to try out new art supplies and setups! I don't live from my art, but I would love to be part of an art community and slowly build a part-time activity related to arts.
